Thanks, Juno.

Well, there it is. I had to stand in line today at Trader Joe’s to return all the gallons of milk and loaves of bread I bought yesterday in preparation for the storm. Looks like we won’t be snowed in forever after all. It was fun to get excited for snowmageddon, but when I peeked out the window this morning it looked oddly familiar. In fact, my view was the same as it was before we went to bed. What happened? I guess Juno changed her mind.

Which is actually great news. No winds, nothing fancy, so after a reasonable breakfast of coffee and donuts, we went out to play.

We took the boys to the dog park aka when-it-snows-it’s-the-park-to-go-sledding-so-why-are-there-dogs-here.

I got to sled twice with Julian and about as many times with Arthur before they decided they only wanted to go down the hill alone or with Papa, respectively. No offense.

Julian was fearless, and Arthur was cold. Mostly because his gloves suck. Thanks for the hand-me-down, Jules. Also, hi rosy cheeks.

So, Juno. It was fun to get excited about you. But I’m glad you changed your mind and we got to play.

After Arthur’s nap we’ll try to sneak down to our neighbor’s yard and build a snowman. Also on the agenda: making popcorn and watching a movie as well as spaghetti with slow-cooker bolognese sauce that’s been cooking all day.

We love snow. Once a year.
